Thursday 8 December 2011

It's December already?

We played a couple of shows recently which we have been fully looking forward to playing and they were indeed bangers. Much thanks to both Doubledgescissor in London, who have been trying to get us down since January and Fcking the Night down in Brighton, who are cracking lads! We've been working hard on writing our 2nd album and we're pretty pumped with half of it now written, with the aim to have most of it written by the early side of next year. There should be a couple of collaborations we will be getting involved with also in the new year, so look out for them.

Our next gigs are not until the new year now so unless something last minute comes up that is us done for this year. It's been bloody marvellous! Absolute stonker of a year.

Thanks again to anyone who has bought our album. We really appreciate it. Everything of that goes towards recording the next one, so nice one!

End of tour round-up.

Well our tour with Theo is done and what a bloody brilliant time we had, which included cheese parties, chips, tunnels, birthdays, police, and a circus big top. We we got to play in London, Manchester, Antwerp, Maastricht and Reims, with Paris unfortunately canceled due to police intervention.  Massive cheers to Dave/Good Rats for the lending of his incredible van Betty, Tommy Royds and guys in Mile End who let us play in their living room, the lovely people up in Manchester who had faith in a sweet funk band and for the great homemade flavoured booze, the guys at Scheld'apen for the best food we've eaten for a long time and for generally sorting us out proper good, Stefan /True Champions Ride On Speed, Charlotte and all of the wonderful people in Gent for having us at their excellent 'my little pony' themed house party, Kees and all at LBB, Maastricht for having us and giving us a great time in your special home, and thank you to Reims - Francesco/Clément and everyone involved with Deux Épis Asso. You guys are awesome and definitely know how to party hard. Cheers!

We got to play with some good bands too; a Manchester funk band whose name we don't know, True Champions Ride On Speed (BE), Juffage (US), Christof (NL), and the incredible Ahleuchatistas (US)

Getting to see Theo each night was a right pleasure too. He's a bit good. Big time.

Theo and ourselves will be doing the same again next year if all goes to plan, just a little bit longer and nearer the summer.

Nice one x

Tournée est plus

Well that's our first tour done and dusted. We had the best time in France. We drove 1500 miles. We learnt a bit of french on the way. We got treated absolutely amazingly by all. We got to play with some fantastic bands, and some interesting ones. We played in a cellar, in a car park, in the garden of a great squat, and in a few bars. We'll probably write a small tour diary at some point. Massive thank you to Nico (Seal of Quality) who was stonking each night and for looking after us with our lack of French language skills. Massive thanks to Julie for also looking after us, cooking us the most delicious french food and making us feel so welcome.

We will be booking shows for a tour in October with Theo for a week tour in Europe because we love it so much.

The split we did for the tour can be downloaded for free over on our bandcamp page. BANDCAMP Or just listen on here just on the right --->

Tuesday 14 June 2011

We we're on BBC Three Counties Radio on Friday which was sweeet!

Head to bbc.co.uk/introducing, upload your music and you could have your tracks broadcast on BBC Radio

We are counting down the days till we go off to France with our friend Nico *SEAL OF QUALITY* for a week's tour. OMTD have never played in Europe, and we both haven't been to Paris before - so that with the French cheese, baguettes, wine, and getting to see Seal Of Quality every show, well that is awesome! We have recorded 3 songs for a split EP with Seal Of Quality, so if you want a copy, come get one off us in France!

BBC Three Counties Radio & other news

So we've been asked to go to BBC Three Counties radio for a live interview on their BBC Introducing show Friday 10th June 7pm to 8pm. We've never been on the radio before so we're a little excited. Tune in then and listen to us mumble for a few minutes using this link below:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_three_counties_radio

In other news:

 • We are just finishing up trying to book our French tour with Seal Of Quality for a week in June. We are gonna do a split for the tour with about 5 songs each on it.
 • We we're going to do a tour with Theo in October for a week in the UK, but we've since changed our minds and will be going to tour Europe instead!
 • We will be playing Nozstock festival in Bromyard, Herefordshire, on July 31st. This is our first show at a festival and we are chuffed to be playing. We'll be on The Bandstand, and the link to it is here: http://www.nozstock.com/line-up/bandstand/. Also playing are the dudes from Heck Tate. Bosh!
 • Our album will be going to press very very soon, so we are expecting to have that in our hands within about 2 months hopefully. We will be looking to play some shows around then to try and get copies to you who want them. If anyone wants to put us on anywhere in the UK, we'll happily try and play for you if we can!

That's is for now really.
Stay classy people

Review / lovely kind words from people:
[Click on the links for the review]

"Elsewhere I Can't Believe We Nearly Bought This is catchy in the most abstract way imaginable, with a few shouted lyrics about an Armando Iannucci sketch and..."
Lions At The Door

" a Casio-and-drums workout that probably required the duo to down a Gatorade after every song"
The Silent Ballet

"Now I'd like to introduce the greatest two-piece to come out of my horrible hometown (bit it up wycombe yo)."
zine and not heard.

We are always looking for people to review our debut album, so just get in touch if you want to review it for us! onemanteamdance [at] gmail [dot] com
Good day to you all!

Album Stream and short notice gig...

We played Bogstock on Saturday night at The Nags Head, High Wycombe. It was all in aid of raising monies for the toilets to be refurbed - win! We somehow managed to squeeze into the lads toilets at 12.30am with about 12/15 people. Through all the commotion of it all, a pint got spilt on the electronics and caused them all to short circuit. We continued playing after some noise back from the keyboards/pedals - we had a banger! Cheers to Tom Hart (Landlord) for letting us play! Silly really. Should be some video of it somewhere.

In other news,
• you can now stream the whole album 'SET MENU' here! You can even pre-order the album while you listen away.
• a late one, but we are now playing in Reading this Sunday 27th March at The Butler [RG1 7DS] w/ The Long Haul (http://www.myspace.com/thelonghauluk), Witch Cult (http://witchcult.tumblr.com/) and Valkillmer (no link) Come and go mental, so you're ready for the new week!!
